Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, struggling with low self-esteem, or navigating difficult life transitions. You might look like you’re functioning on the outside, but inside you feel stuck, exhausted, or unsure of your next step.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood. Therapy with me is not about judgment. It is about helping you reconnect with your strengths, clarify what matters most to you, and move forward with greater confidence.
My name is Malinda, and I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Argosy University, my graduate degree in Forensic Psychology with a concentration in Law Enforcement from Argosy University, and my graduate degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I worked with probationers for three years providing counseling services at a private practice and taught Marijuana Intervention, Life Skills, and the DWI Safety Education Course. I have worked at two hospitals, one as a Mental Health Technician while in graduate school and then as a Treatment Manager at another hospital once completing that degree. From there I have continued to work in private practice. I work with individuals (adults and children from ages 12 and up), couples, and families.
I addition, I work with military and those in law enforcement. I specialize in addiction, trauma, personality and mood disorders, eating disorders, LGBTQ+, criminal behavior, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management, Autism, ADHD, single parenting, chronic illness, and rare diseases. I provide Christian counseling upon request.
You might look like you’re holding it all together, but inside feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of who you are right now and that can be exhausting. I work with teens, young adults, and women navigating big transitions and all the feelings that come with them. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can exhale, be honest, and start making sense of things. Together, we’ll help you feel more grounded, confident, and work on growing into your next chapter.
Life= struggle. Its true, or it wouldn't be life. Why not have a helping hand to get through it. Consider your therapist as a hammer, helping you build whatever it is your building. It helps you get to the goal, the finishing project, but it's not useful without you using it, and applying the effort towards what you're trying to build.
I'm traditionally a CBT psychotherapist who also utilizes other forms of techniques and therapies as they pertain to the client's needs to achieve a successful treatment.
I have a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic University located in Houston, Texas.
A good therapist is someone who is your cheerleader, but also provides the hard truths. Allow me to be that support in your life, to help, heal, empower and move forward in positive directions.
I have worked in diverse settings working with countless categories of focus. Primarily, I specialize in working with adult individuals, family and couples in addition to resolving depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, stress management, and identity development to name a few.
Brandi is a therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families. She believes that therapy is about doing the heart work. With 15 years of experience in the social work field, her client’s success is attributed to their willingness to process through and confront uncomfortable situations/habits. Therapy, may at times, feel like open heart surgery, however you and those around you will be the better for the undoing of lifelong patterns, and subconscious thought processes that are no longer benefiting you. Brandi’s top priority is to ensure that your mental health needs are met.
My focus is to help you heal, energize, and become aware of how you want to define yourself. This is achieved through providing a client-centered environment while creating a treatment plan to move you toward feeling more self-love. I utilize techniques from solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, and narrative therapies to help you feel more comfortable and capable in your own skin.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, I have a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. I am very passionate about working with adults. It is essential to provide a safe environment where clients will be heard and not judged. We will explore your concerns and use effective therapeutic methods to help you work through them. As an LPC Supervisor, I am also passionate about ethically guiding new counselors in the field. I am also a doctoral student pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision.
My clinical style is warm, structured, and collaborative. I emphasize clear communication and shared decision-making with my patients. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where people feel heard and respected.
I have an AGACNP background, which supports my ability to assess medical comorbidity and understand complex medical/psychiatric overlap. I am also DOT-certified, which reflects my knowledge of safety-sensitive considerations and careful medication risk assessment.
