I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to providing the most effective treatment approaches to help my clients achieve their life goals and be the best that they can be. Over the past twenty years, I have been helping children, teens and adults face and overcome problems that may prevent them from reaching their fullest potential. These difficulties may include ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma or adjustment problems related to life events such as a death or divorce. I will help you determine what may be underlying the problem and develop an effective treatment plan to address the issues and achieve your goals.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience helping adults and adolescents manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, life transitions, and substance-related concerns.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and goal-focused. I use evidence-based strategies, including CBT and exposure-based work, to help clients better understand their patterns, build coping skills, and make meaningful changes in daily life.
I believe therapy does not have to be reserved only for moments of crisis. It can be helpful for anyone who wants to manage stress more effectively, improve relationships, strengthen emotional control, or feel more confident in how they handle life’s demands.
I have 31 years of nursing experience and specialize in the evaluation and treatment of postpartum mental health conditions, including postpartum depression. I also treat anxiety, depression, mood disorders, weight management, PTSD and OCD. I started out in maternity and pediatrics as my nursing career and then went back to school for my masters, PMHNP certification and doctoral degree. I have also taught nursing students in undergraduate and graduate curriculums. I believe meaningful healing starts with being truly heard. I take a holistic, collaborative approach to care—working with you to understand the root causes of your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your overall well-being, looking at medications and holistic measures such as diet and supplements in order to heal. Some of the most important nutrients essential for brain health include Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D Vitamin A Folate and Protein. Treatment includes evidence-based medications, therapy, supplements, and nutrition management tailored to your unique needs, culture, goals, and comfort level. I believe in managing your gut health can manage your brain health and provide you to be a better healthier person inside out. Treatment plans are individualized, collaborative, and focused on restoring stability, functioning, and overall well-being.
Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of their mental health. I received my MA in Counseling from Webster University. I have extensive training and success in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD for all ages. I am here to walk together with you on your healing journey and offer perspectives and techniques that will improve your everyday life.
I have a strong personal connection to nature, which I believe can be a powerful tool for healing. I enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, hiking, surfing, and even farming—which allows me to maintain a sense of balance and peace.
I’m a therapist who believes therapy should feel supportive, practical, and human. I work with people who feel lost—whether that shows up as uncertainty, disconnection, chaos, or a sense of not quite fitting in your own life. Together, we create space to slow down, make sense of and manage challenges in your life whether that’s in men’s issues (such as communication, emotional expression, identity, relationship & societal expectations), women’s issues (such as people-pleasing, boundaries, self-worth, life transitions, expectations from others), relationships, parenting, career changes, and patterns of self-defeating choices. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, with a focus on building self-acceptance, clarity, and trust in yourself as you find your way forward.
I have experience working with adults and teens navigating mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, as well as substance use and recovery. I use evidence-based approaches to help clients build insight, develop coping skills, and create meaningful change. I believe in humor and humanity in the therapy space as our therapeutic relationship is essential to making things work!
I previously practiced law for 17 years prior to going back to school to become a therapist after witnessing the 9/11 attacks from my office window. Most recently, I worked in a group psychotherapy practice prior to starting my own private practice where I provided therapy to adolescents (and their families) and adults who struggled with, among other things, depression and anxiety, using a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches in order to tailor treatment to fit each client’s needs.
I provide both individual and group therapy. The therapy services I have provided include working with the mentally ill, dual diagnosed, DDD population, ER assessments, inpatient, outpatient, partial care, RTC level of care, and incarcerated individuals. My experience includes but is not limited to the assessment and diagnosis of youth, adults and families. I have experience with developing and implement therapeutic interventions and treatment plans with goals and objectives along with education culture and recreation.
Services I provide are: discharge planning, case management services that included referring youth and families for services as needed and deemed appropriate, individual, family and group counseling. Monthly reports to the court on substance abuse/dependence progress and recommendations for continued services.
Developing and implementing programs including but not limited to educational cultural and recreation.
Experienced developer working with youth and adults from both DDD and DVR, which included job placement services for the mentally ill, mentally challenged and brain injured population. Familiarity with both DDD and DYFS licensing procedures and agency policies. Experience working with juveniles incarcerated in Juvenile Justice Commission and adults incarcerated in a maximum security facility such as Rahway State Prison in NJ.
