Reaching out for therapy can take courage, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with nearly a decade of clinical experience in inpatient behavioral health. I focus on depression and bipolar mood concerns, anxiety, ADHD, and life stressors.
Hello! My name is Megan Hilton, and I am an LPC mental health counselor. I obtained my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University in March of 2023, where I began seeing clients and gaining experience. I specialized in child and adolescent therapy while in school and have continued working with youths between 5 - 18 years old. I attended therapy myself as a child and adolescent and feel my personal experience has allowed me to better understand my younger clients. I have also gained experience working with adults through individual, couples, and family counseling.
Many of the solutions we seek are already inside of us. They can be hard to find, but it is possible. Using talk therapy and emotional regulation skills, we’ll work together to identify goals and practices that fit with the life you’re eager to live. I will provide compassionate, steady support as you navigate anxiety, depression, family or relationship challenges, recovery from addiction, and the impacts of ADHD.
I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs and always consider cultural and social context. I also collaborate with other therapists to offer educational and support groups several times a year. Using a combination of physical, emotional, and cognitive tools, we’ll work to improve daily functioning, strengthen coping skills, and increase the joy and ease in your life.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Regis University, and I work with adults across a variety of life stages and transitions.
I have 30 years of experience in the behavioral health field and supporting clients with evidence based skills and lived experience. Together we can explore your goals, struggles and successes. I specialize in anxiety, depression, substance use/misuse issues, stress and life transitions. My main approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Motivational techniques to help guide your self discovery. Professionals looking to navigate work related demands, I provide coaching and direction to maximize professional and leadership skills to meet your potential. We will work at your comfort level in a supportive environment of exploration and change.
I believe in our capacity to adapt, grow, love, grieve, overcome & thrive. Stressful events, trauma, loss, illness & change can overwhelm our ability to cope. We become stuck. We protect ourselves to avoid ever feeling that pain again. Solutions that once worked become part of the problem. When the wound is triggered, we experience pain & distorted ways of thinking. In therapy, we journey together to uncover & remove blocks to healing, transforming pain & loss into meaning, awareness & choice.
Hey! I am Cara, my approach is dependent on what the folks I am working with need. I bring a culturally informed lens to our work, understanding that everyone's journey is distinct. I think that one of my greatest strengths is creating a connection with clients and a space they feel comfortable being themselves.
If this sounds good to you, schedule a consultation. I look forward to meeting you!!
I believe therapy is most effective when people feel safe and supported, and my master’s degree in forensic psychology taught me to see things from multiple perspectives to support clients. I have worked in outpatient substance use treatment and integrated healthcare and also taught and supervised students and early-career therapists. These experiences have helped tailor my practice to support clients experiencing complex and traumatic events, relationship issues, addiction, and life changes.
Therapy with me helps you to feel different, not just to think different. I work with people looking to shift at the core. I am your collaborator in accessing more resilient states and to discover more ease in your daily life.
People who seek me out tend to be: teachers, queer folks, quarterlifers (ages 20-40), first responders, therapists, snow & avalanche workers, guides, outdoor educators, nonprofit employees, athletes ... and may be looking for help with trauma (childhood & event specific), outdoor accidents, grief & loss, chronic pain, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity exploration, & ongoing resilience support
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in mental health and trauma, I provide compassionate, client-centered care. I believe healing is a holistic process that addresses both mind and body. Working collaboratively with clients, I create a safe space to explore experiences and heal from past wounds.
